CapSU Burias Molds Young Journalists

The role of journalism has been evolving and undergone a massive change. With this
transformation, CapSUnian Echo conducted a two-day Seminar Training-Workshop, February 12-13, 2020 with a theme “Campus Journalism in 21st Century”.

      The event teaches, enhances, and sharpen the skills and talents of students who 
desire to become journalist.

      The highlights are the topics given by CapSUnian Echo Staff related to writing,
photojournalism, broadcasting and feature writing.

      The two day training, opens wide opportunities for students to cover and capture photos,
interact with other students, participate in broadcasting and join on the different writing category.

      The event produced promising and brilliant writers. The following aspiring young journalist dominated the seminar training-workshop:

Photo Caption Category: 5th Place – A Lovely Mess by Mica MontaƱo , 4th Place- Lights
of Hope and Love by Jazelle Leonardo, 3rd Place – The Unsung Hero by Maricar Dionero and Jovie Ann Hernandez, 2nd Place: Candid Memories by Ira Grace Floro, Grizel Candelario and Earl Joy Amo and 1st Place : Flames of You by JCL.

News Writing Category: Promising Writers were Farah Villeza, Shery Lyn Sonio and
James E. Villasis. News Casting Category: 3rd Place – Group 3, 2nd Place – Group 5 and 1st Place – Group 2.

Editorial Writing Category: Promising Writers were JenebeTorreblanca, Lea N. Ventura,
and The author of: Spread Love Not Virus.


Feature Writing Category: Promising Writers was Racy Louise D. Fuentes.

Literary Writing--Flash Fiction Category: Promising Writers were Kimberly Shane
Fundal, Farah Villeza, Jenebe Torreblanca;

Poem Writing Category: Promising Writers were Christian De Pablo, Tamaka Penpain,
Jay N. Dela Cruz, Racy Louise Fuentes and Omar Roberto.

The event ended successfully through the effort and collaboration of the Capsunian Echo
Editorial Staff headed by their Editor in Chief, Dhaine Villorente.
